There are some days when you just are not happy. It seems everything just plain gets on your last nerve. And you can cry at the drop of a hat. Doesn't make you a bad person. Or un-Christian. It just makes you human. Today was one of those days for me. It's been awhile since I've had one. So this evening I put on a little bit of makeup & went to Target, just to get out of the house. I found my "Happy Place" in the nailpolish section & brought home these 2 beauties (Revlon "Sparkling" and OPI "I Lily Love You"). Amazing how a trip to Target for some new nailpolish can make a girl feel better.

The New Stool For Razzy

Razzy has put on a bit of weight. He can't help it though....He loves food. :) But he now he can't jump into "his" recliner. We have to pick him up & put him in it. Hahaha! I've had this little stool stashed in the shed for awhile, so I grabbed it out last night before the rain hit & decided to give it a make-over.

A Sound Among the Trees~Book Review

This is a book review for "A Sound Among the Trees" by Susan Meissner.

If the cover of a book has a woman in an antebellum dress on it, the chances of me reading it are pretty great. I will say though that I was a bit skeptical of this book, when I began reading it. I don't like spooky things & this was about a ghost, Susannah Page, that haunts the halls of Holly Oak. Which was a home that stood through the wages of the Civil War, with a cannon ball still embedded in the wall, as proof of that long ago battle. The cast of characters soon drew me in....Susannah's 80 something, great-granddaughter, Adelaide. She is now the matriarch of Holly Oak. Then there is Marielle Bishop....The new bride that is brought to Holly Oak to live with her new husband Carson, who is the widower of Sara, Adelaide's granddaughter. Can you keep up? The layers of the people in the story are what make it so fascinating. I had no idea how this book would turn out, which I loved. And it was much different than I had expected....Super glad about that, since I didn't want any nightmares. My favorite part of the whole book were Susannah's letters. I could have read an entire book of just those! I fell in love with Susannah. This is a book about love, the struggle of the hardships life throws our way & the redemptive power of forgiveness.I have never read a book written by Susan Meissner, but this surely will not be the last. I enjoyed her style of writing immensely.

Pajama Dance Night

Last night I met up with Stacey over at Wendi's house. We have all become a bit obsessed with "Just Dance 3". We thought we might as well be comfy so we wore our PJ's & had some Little Caesars pizza. I also took my vast array of nailpolish. It was just a fun casual night with no real plans. We talked, laughed, ate, painted nails, went to Ulta & Barnes & Noble in our PJ's, rode with the top down on the car, danced, got hot & sat out in the gazebo while it rained, talked & laughed some more. It was a great night! And I didn't get home until 3:30am. That's the new joke...You can't leave Wendi's until 3am. Haha!

We did have a little adventure...As we were walking from the car into Ulta, I was walking a little ways in front of Stacey & Wendi, when I saw 2 girls come bursting out of the door of the store. They had 2 large purses & were laughing. The alarm was going off. They started running in my direction & I yelled "Did y'all just shoplift?" The one girl said as she was running by "What makes you think we shoplifted!?!" To which I yelled back "Because y'all are running like crazy people, who have!" As they were jumping in the car, the employees of Ulta came to the door & began yelling for us to get their tag number. It all happened so fast, we couldn't see the tag. But they were in a white newer Toyota. The girls stole tons of perfume. I told the police what I saw. The employees said they are not allowed to walk out of the store to get the tag or they would be fired. It's crazy! Stacey & Wendi were cracking up & shocked at me for confronting those girls. I was mad I didn't have a chance to stop them. :/ Stacey said I need to be a private investigator, since I always seem to see things. Hahaha! Man.....I would LOVE that job. If I could go back in time, I would totally make that my career.

And I didn't take any pictures from the entire night! What is wrong with me?

Friday we had a craft night at Wendi's to make some things for Chris' baby Jax's first birthday party. Stacey brought her Cricut & while she cut things out, Chris glued things together. Wendi & I looked at

her souvenirs from when she went to the Royal Wedding! Yes! She was one of those people that stood outside in the massive crowd. I would have too, if I had had the chance. Plus I played with the puppy LuLu. And the other doggies Sophie & Twinkie. And the cat Jasper. And the bird Pippa. :)

Christmas Day

On Christmas day, after we have opened our gifts we walk over to Mom's to spend the day. We wear our new pj's, watch movies, play games, eat & just chill out the entire day.

I made these later in the day & they were soooooo good! I found them on pinterest. I have a new addiction & they are called Hawaiian Ham Sammies.

Diane found this "Farmall" flannel shirt & got it for Mom. Danny was SO excited! He wants to cut the tag out. Hahaha!!!

I did not want the day to end at all. I got sad when Mom & D got tired & we came home, because I knew once we were home the day was officially over. I always get a bit melancholy on Christmas night. I know I shouldn't fear the future, but I do. I don't like the unknown & Christmas is a marker that the year is really coming to an end. I know most people look at the new year with hope, but I like to stay right where I am. Hahaha! The future does hold great promise, but it can also bring unwanted things too. Anyhoo.....On a lighter note! This was truly a wonderful Christmas! How blessed I am. God is good & I am thankful.

Christmas Eve At Mom's

We tried to get back to Mom's in time to see Santa on the firetruck & we thought we missed him. We were almost home, when we saw the flashing lights down a street, so we turned to see him. But he was in the bushes taking a potty break. Hahaha!

Mom made this nightgown for Mercy....She made a matching one for the doll Santa was bringing too (but Mercy didn't know about that)

D & I got Mercy the first 5 Mandie books. These are the books that sparked such a love of reading in me.

This of course was a "gag" gift for Keith. Danny made him think this was all he was getting. Haha!

I basically had to do the majority of my Christmas shopping the day before Christmas Eve...AKA...Christmas Adam. Mom & I met Diane at Kohl's at 9am to begin a whirlwind day of shopping. We had a blast! Diane dropped up off our our car close to 8pm, but we weren't done yet! Mom & I shopped till 11:30pm! I then came home & wrapped presents until 4am.

Christmas In The Barn

We had our annual Christmas get together with the family up in the barn.

We did a totally different menu. There was meatloaf (Mom's & the best in the world), pork (made by my Uncle Bob), butter beans, cole slaw, cornbread, Crack Potatoes, Paula Deen's greenbean casserole, mac & cheese & deviled eggs. There was probably other stuff, but I can't remember. It was ALL so good! And so fun to make different things, except for Jamie, who got stuck with deviled eggs. Hahahaha!

I made the Crack Potatoes. I got the recipe from pinterest. They were a huge hit! You know they are good, when Paw is asking about what's in them. And Codie kept eating them throughout the time we were there.

Let me explain the above photo.....

We were playing "Dirty Santa" with $10 gift cards, but Diane opened one with $10 cash, she took it & put it in her shirt. Jimbo (Renee's husband) was the next number & ran over & said I want that $10! Diane said "you gotta get it", not thinking he would & he did!!!!!! We were on the floor dying laughing!!!!! I about peed my pants!!!!! (at least I think that's how it happened. It was so quick!) On the way home, D & I were talking about how funny it was & he said "I couldn't look. I was embarrassed." Hahahahaha!

Laughing hysterically! Poor Desiree (Chad's girlfriend)....It was her first time with our family, I hope she isn't tarnished! Haha!

I want to squeeze her. :) As you can tell Alyssa seems to be my favorite subject at family gatherings. But she smiles & poses when I tell her. Plus she's so darn cute!

This had to be one of the BEST family Christmas gatherings. We had such a happy, fun, laughter filled time. My ♥ is full!

White Christmas

Last year, Leland invited us to go see "White Christmas" at The Alabama Theatre, after he discovered I share his love of the most amazing Christmas movie ever! :) Leland has gone to see "White Christmas" there for the last 20 years. But for us it is our new tradition. And one I truly look forward to all year. There is nothing like seeing this classic film in that gorgeous theatre. And even more special when you are watching it with someone who gets just as giddy as you throughout the film.

On one of my trips to the bathroom in the basement, a young girl, maybe 11-12 stopped me & said she loved my pink sparkly headband. I told her thank you, that I love sparkly things. She said she does too & that she has a pair of sparkly hightops she wears to school, but is made fun of, because people tell her she wears them too much. I told her she just needs to tell them that you can never wear sparkles too much. She grinned so big. As I made my way back up the 3 flights of stairs I just chuckled to myself as I thought "A 35 year old woman was just complimented by a little girl for her sparkly pink hairbow!" Hahahaha!

Leland & I have been talking about going to Garden Ridge to check out their Christmas decor stuff for ages. He happened to be on vacation on my birthday, so we planned to go then. D was going to go too, but had to work for part of the day. So it was Leedles & I on our adventure.

The day began with him picking me up at Mom's. She had made a present for him.

He brought her "Banana bread".

For those privy to Mom's "lipstick story" you will understand why Mom made Leland a lipstick. Hahaha!

I gave him his late bday gift. This is tie-dye wrapping paper from about 13-14 years. I used it for a bulletin board back when I was a daycare teacher.

From Mom's we went to a store to see if they had cookies he used to buy for his Daddy (they didn't), then we went to a thrift store. I wanted to check on some ties. That place is nicer & cheaper than thrift store, close to my house. From there we went to Garden Ridge, where most of there Christmas stuff was picked over. :( And it was like that everywhere!

We then went to an antique place called "Urban Suburban", to look at his friends Joan Crawford collection that he is selling. I LOVE those kinda places. I did a little Christmas shopping there.

We then headed to the mall, but we came through downtown. I have never entered downtown from the North side, so I was turned around & so was Leland. We finally made our way to the interstate & to the mall. We were meeting D, but D wasn't there yet, so we went to the Christmas Tree Shop. Booooo hiss!!!! They didn't have hardly ANY Christmas anything! How do you name a store that & not have Christmas stuff? He had never been to World Market, so we went in there. Another one of the stores I enjoy.

We went to the Christmas ornament store & to the calendar store. Was disappointed they didn't have any Lucy ornaments...But they had "Jersey Shore" ones? Yuck!

We don't have a Costco card anymore, so Leland took us over & we got D some of his favorite chocolate muffins. And we walked around, getting the samples to give to D to eat. :)

Leland dropped us off at our car, then we went to Target (D bought me the newest Adele cd) & Kohl's. I mainly just went to see their Christmas stuff. I have to see it all every year if I can. But it of course was all picked over. Then to Hobby Lobby for a few more craft supplies. I was shocked when we went in there! They have condensed the Christmas stuff & are bringing out the next season. I guess I'm just in denial Christmas is NEXT WEEK!

After we left Hobby Lobby, we got us each a cupcake at Gigi's. I got the "Scarlett's Red Velvet" & D got the "Bourbon Ball". Then went to Walmart. As we were looking for a place to park, we saw Leland unloading his buggy, so we stopped & talked somemore. Instead of going to the movies, I decided I would rather use that $ on something I wanted so I got one of those hair wands. I have been wanting one for a long time. For supper we went to a new Hibachi/sushi/chinese buffet.

When we got home we went & visited Mom & Danny. Mom gave me a sweatshirt robe like one she has. I have been wanting one too! It looks just like a hoodie sweatshirt, but it goes to your ankles. I was super excited!

I did not get home, until almost 3am! We took our pictures around the tree, as we were "leaving". We ended up sitting around talking until the wee hours of the night. The bad part was those 3 had to get up with kids a few hours later. But boy, it sure was a blast!

Curly Wrapping Paper Wreath

Saturday evening, Honey D was at work, so I got inspired to make a wreath. I have had a big round piece of thick styrofoam for several years, that I knew I would use one day. It was actually a piece that came in a packing of a computer (I think) & a friend gifted it to me. And it was perfect for this project. Sorry I didn't take a picture of it before I wrapped it in fabric. I wasn't thinking "tutorial" when I got started.

This is the wreath wrapped in strips of fabric. I covered it in fabric because I wasn't sure where my creativity was going to take me & I thought I wanted the fabric to show.

I had seen on Pinterest where you can curl wrapping paper like you do ribbon. And I always have an abundance of wrapping paper. :) I'm a sucker for the Christmas paper at Hobby Lobby.

Along with my wrapping paper, I also had left over ribbon from making my giant bow tree topper.

I just started curling pieces of wrapping paper, like in the above Pinterest photo. And instead of gluing them into place, I just used straight pins, from my sewing box. That way you can move the curls around to the perfect position. Adding the fabric helped keep it more secure. I alternated the 2 different patterns of paper. When I almost had the wreath completely covered in curls, I tied a piece of ribbon around the top to use as a hanger. And completed the wreath by covering that ribbon up with more curls. Then I made the big bow & just used straight pins to secure it to the top. So there was zero gluing involved. You could use glue, of course. But this way was easier & not messy.

Let me forewarn you though... It took hours curling this paper. So, I just sat & watched Christmas movies, while cutting, curling & pinning. Not Pinterest "pinning", but pinning the curls into place. Ha! It was fun though!

I hung the wreath on my front door just for photos. This is NOT...I repeat NOT, a wreath for outside since it's all paper. I made it to hang behind my couch, but since I have very little natural light inside, I hung it on the door to snap the pics.

A "Deer" Friend

I haven't seen any deer up here on the mountain in a long time. Danny sees them all the time. But this afternoon when I saw D stop at the mailbox on his way up the driveway, Razzy & I went out on the back porch. I saw something up on the mountain out of the corner of my eye. I looked up & there stood a sweet doe maybe 25 ft from me. I picked up Razzy so he didn't see her & bark. D drove up & I motioned to him to be quiet, so he didn't scare her. He said she had been right by our driveway when he drove up. We stood out there for about 10 minutes just watching her. She would stop ever so often & just look at us. She was never scared of us either. We watched her until she finally went up behind the cave. I have got to get another salt block out there. I love watching them so much!

Speaking of wild animals, I don't think I ever blogged about the mystery animal we have had. A few months ago, it was late one evening & D wasn't home yet. I had let Razzy out in the back, when he got to barking. Now, Razzy is a Dachshund & Dachshunds like to bark. So, I don't always go see every time he yips at something. Now if Rocco had been barking I would have been alarmed. He only barks at important stuff & doesn't join in the barking when Molly & Razzy get going. It was when we all had our windows open & Mom sent me a text to ask what Razzy was "after." It was then I went to see. Razzy was standing on the bark porch, facing towards the mountain & barking like crazy. I walked out & told him to come to me, as I was picking him up I heard a sound I will never forget! It was a growl, sighing type sound. Like something was aggravated. I put Razzy in the house & just stood there a second to listen. Whatever it was, was HUGE! It was no dog or deer. My first thought was BEAR! I could hear it making it's way up the mountain but in the direction behind Mom's house. It was minutes later that D drove up & I told him to hurry into the gate.

A few nights later we were watching a show & the people were camping. A bear came into their camp & was outside the tent & it was making the same exact sound I heard!

About 2 or 3 weeks after I heard it, Mom had gone out & got home around 10pm or so. And as she was getting out of her car & walking around it to go in the back door, she heard that same growl/sigh/aggravated sound. She said she was too scared to stand around & listen for what it was.

I have heard something quite large up on the mountain a few times since, but have never seen anything. We even put out Danny's game camera, but it was before the leaves fell & we didn't get anything. So, I'm thinking we need to set it out again.

Utility Knives

I love me a good utility knife. The problem around our house is we have a few utility knives, but once D uses them they are never put back where they are supposed to go. I think I need to get one of my own, for goodness sake! I really could use one in my craft box. I guess I should add that my ever growing list of things I need to buy. This year Mom & I started out at Belk at a little before 2am. They opened at 3 & were giving away gift cards ranging from $5-$250, to the first 250 customers. We love to go to get the giftcard, which we usually get the $5 one & then we go in to spend it. It's just something fun we enjoy doing. We stood in line for over an hour & as we got to the door found out we were numbers 254 & 255!!!!! All we could do was laugh! But we did make 2 news friends while standing in line. :)

We met up with Donna & Renee...It was just us 4 this year. We missed the other Fat Kats! But goodness we laughed so much!!!! Anywho... after making a pit stop for me to run into Target & then a potty break/snack break at the gas station, we headed to the mall. Donna & Renee had been shopping since 10pm the night before so they were already exhausted. We went to several places to get our goodies. I found the massive Christmas ornament store!!! (I must go back there) After leaving the mall, we went to World Market & Ulta. I got 2 more OPI Muppet polishes for my stocking . :) Renee never bought anything!!! I just remember her sorta walking with us in a bit of a zombie state. Hahahahaha!!!

They dropped us off at Hobby Lobby & they went on home. Mom & I shopped for awhile more there. I love to get a new roll of wrapping paper from there every year, even though I have tons already. I have go to get different shoes for Black Friday next year. They tennis shoes I wore about killed my feet. If not for that I could have shopped for a few more hours. We got home about 10am. I think I was officially in bed asleep by noon & slept the rest of the day.

I was so tired. I told Mom to "Look at Renee" instead of "Look at me" to take the picture. Hahahaha! This was right after D called me & he told me to "hold on a minute" & I laid the phone on the bench. Hahahaha! Lord help me.

Thanksgiving Day

I always get up to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I have to, have to, have to see Santa make his grand entrance. It's a must! While watching that, I baked a ham & made oven fried corn. I had cooked green beans on Wednesday for about 5 hours. Those are the best green beans ever.

D & I went over to Mom & Danny's for lunch. It was just the 4 of us. We ate & watched some Andy Griffith.

The Sickies

Friday the 18th, I woke up feeling pretty bad, but as the day progressed I just got worse. I had the flu, the regular kind, ya know? Sneezing, coughing, achy, fever, ect.... D went for "sick supplies" & brought me home kleenex, noodle soup & the ingredients for cough syrup. But during the night on Saturday I was restless all night with nausea. Little did I know it was about to begin honestly one of the worst days I have ever experienced in my whole life. When I woke up, I got D to come clean the bathroom, since I knew I would be "using" it (I had planned on cleaning it on Friday). And use that potty I did. I was so nauseous I could not even begin of thinking of drinking anything. D went to get me some Sprite, just to help me try to keep something down. I was not too happy about giving into drinking soda, since I have been soda free for 10 months. But Thank You Jesus for Sprite! D had been home with me all day on Sunday, but had to be at work that evening. Not long after he left, I went to the bathroom & the strangest wave/cold sweat came over me. I have never experienced anything like it or as awful. All I could remember thinking was "get out of the bathroom." And apparently I did, because I woke up laying across the foot of the bed & I was shaking & freezing. When I woke up I couldn't even move or talk. I just laid there. I finally called Mom & told her what happened & she said she would come over, but I didn't want her to get whatever this nastiness was. I waited to tell D, because he was at work & I knew he couldn't leave. I ended up running a 102 temp for over 24 hours. I think mainly because I could not take a fever reducer. All I could do was barely sip the Sprite. My tongue even turned white from dehydration. I almost passed out again later that night, but got myself to the bed before I did. It was just plain brutal. I lived off of Sprite & butter cookies for 3 days. I did make some rice in broth & ate a bit of it. I didn't eat any "real" food until Wednesday night. I had made a pot of green beans for Thanksgiving & I ate a bowl of those. Man, were they good! I knew Thanksgiving wouldn't be a day of overeating for me though. I ate a very small plate of food at Mom's & didn't eat anything but a sliver of pie at Renee's. I hope I never ever ever have to experience that mess again.

Days Of Thanksgiving

During the month of November people posted on facebook something they are grateful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving. I decided to join them & wanted to post them all on my blog on Thanksgiving day.

Thankful Day #1...For emotions. Good, bad or ugly. I'm grateful I was created an emotional being, even when my emotions get the best of me & they frustrate me to no end. I would rather feel things deeply, than not at all.

Thankful Day #2...I'm thankful for Jesus & everything about Him. He's pretty spectacular, ya know?

Thankful Day #3....I am thankful for my big comfy bed full of mountains of pillows & soft blankets. And today is a perfect day to spend in it. *sigh* :)

Thankful Day #4....For my husband. From the moment we met & there was a *spark*, he has always let me be me. He was the first person in my life I could be totally & completely myself with, without judgement or feeling I needed to change to have his love. What a gift of freedom that is. He has never once raised his voice at me or made me feel less than. Tells me I'm beautiful everyday & I hear an abundance of "I love yous". I'm grateful that even though he drives me nuts & life is NOT perfect, that after 11 years of marriage I am still finding new things about him to fall in love with. What a God send my gentle giant is.

Thankful Day #5....I'm grateful for the gift of creativity. And for Hobby Lobby that helps me express it.

Thankful day #6....For my Mom. She & I have been through alot in my almost 35 years & as I have gotten older I have learned to appreciate her more & more. We have our ups & downs, disagree a whole bunch, but in the end, it's love that holds us strong. I adore her more than words & she infuriates me all at the same time. She's a pretty special lady. I don't know what I would do without her to be quite honest (Ssshhhhh...Lord, don't tell her I said that). ;)

Thankful Day #7....For Danny (my step-dad, not to be confused with my husband Daniel). He married Mom when I was 9 & I was none too pleased with the idea. I even tried to refuse to go to the wedding. Yep, I was bullheaded then too. But over the years I have developed a great love for this kind, unwavering in his beliefs, heart of gold, dry humored man. I am grateful he is who God chose for my Mom. In his mind I am "That blame kid." But in my mind he is "Fred Mertz".

Thankful Day #8...For my furbabies Molly, Razzy & Rocco. They bring so much joy into our lives. They are not "just dogs", but God's little furry personalities that he blessed us with. I have some holes in my heart & the Lord knew they are just what I need to fill those empty places with love. Just like a the little sign I have hanging in my kitchen says "No home is complete...Without the pitter patter of doggy feet."

Thankful Day #9...For chocolate.

Thankful Day #10...Today I am grateful for people who seek God in the midst of their struggles & sin. And for a God who is always waiting with open arms to help them write a new chapter, no matter what people may say. My God is bigger than people's opinions.

Thankful Day #11....For every person who has served & does serve in our military. Those who sacrified their lives & time for our freedom. Including my Paw who is proud to call himself a Marine. And Karl, my cousin Donna's husband who is an active Marine. And not just for them, but for their families, who have to let go of their loved ones & sacrifice also, so we can live free.

Thankful Day #12....For hair products. I don't know what I would do without my hair serums, frizzy control, mousse, hair spray, flat iron, curling iron, ect.... Even after using all that, I still look a mess, so you can only imagine what I would look like without it.

Thankful Day #13....For how beautiful today was. Everything seemed to be bright yellow! And that I got the mountain of leaves swept off the porch.

Thankful Day #14....For friends/family who pray & actually let you know they care.

Thankful Day #15....For coupons & stores that accept them.

Thankful Day #16....For chocolate milk & for Nesquik that makes it that way. I don't know what I would do without my nightly large glass of that chocolatey goodness.

Thankful Day #17...For clutter. Now I know most wouldn't be grateful for that, but I see it as a gift. Why? Because I am blessed enough to have way too much stuff! Being a pack rat & emotionally attached to just about every thing can be a curse at times, but it is so rewarding holding on to things I cherish, things people I love have given to me or it once belonged to them. So I guess I am grateful for being extremely sentimental. It's not a bad thing I still have my mechanical Hello Kitty pencil with the heart shaped stamp on top from the 2nd grade.

Thankful Day #18...For Kleenex with lotion or Puffs Plus. Either one is wonderful. Especially right now, since I am officially a snot head. Some may say I have always been one, but medically speaking.

Thankful Day #19...I know I've already done a thankful day for D, but I just want to say how grateful I am for him again. He's been at work all day, while I've been home & too sick to get out of bed. He is now on his way home after going to get me some "sick supplies" including the ingredients for "the recipe" & french fries from McDonald's. I sure do love him.

Thankful day # 20... that I survived a brutal day with the flu after passing out yesterday while home alone.

Thankful day # 21... that I am fever free for the first time since Friday.

Thankful Day #22...For Sprite. I am not at all happy about having to give into drinking soda after going almost 10 months without any. But I don't know what I would have done with Sprite these last few days. It's still about the only thing my body will let me have at this point. So kudos to Sprite...You are a life saver.

Thankful Day #23...I'm just thankful. Thankful for everything. The good times. The bad times. The middle of the road times. Times of desperation & times of pure bliss. The family & friends who have come, gone, remain & are yet to be in my life. The modern conveniences, I freely use without a blink. For so many things I can't even begin to describe. And most of all for the loving God who chose me to be His child to live this life. It may not be perfect, but He perfectly loves me!

Thankful Day #24...That I got to watch the parade & see Santa Claus come to town. Cook a ham & oven fried corn. Got to eat lunch with Mom & Danny, with some Andy Griffith entertainment for dessert. We will be headed to my Aunt Renee's for supper with the fam! Then we will end the day by mapping out our shopping adventure. SO thankful for days like these & the chance to experience them. So blessed! Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!

Swarovski Crystal beads

I've been watching Project Accessory. I'm a huge fan of Project Runway, so I figured I would give this show a shot too. It was pretty good. One thing that was cool was that the designers had an entire wall of Swarovski Crystal beads to use in their designs. It was hard to not be a bit jealous of that wall of shiny goodness! I love shiny stuff!

When I was a kid my Paw smoked cigars. Not sure of they were hoyo de monterrey or not, but I can remember the sweet scent that would linger in the air. We would sit on the front porch, as he rocked in his rocking chair telling all kinds of stories. Who knew if half of them were true of not. :) But those are some extra special memories to me.

Traditional Tree got a new bow! A 50 YARD bow, I may add! I didn't even put all the ornaments on it this year....They wouldn't fit!

Superman tree got a few new additions, including a cape! Most is just from D's collection. See the cape draped on the back. :)

I'm so glad to have them all finally up. I took my time this year & put up the Lucy tree 2 weeks ago. Instead of trying to get all 3 done in one day & basically killing myself, I spaced them out. Besides, my back is really hating on me lately & there was no way I could have done it all in a day even if I wanted too. Last year I think it took me 16 hours or something like that. Before I put up the Traditional tree, I knew I wanted to make a new bow. It hasn't gotten a new bow in a few years & I wanted polka dots! I for some reason thought I have bought 70 feet of ribbon.....Nope! I bought 70 yards! It's a big honkin' bow.

Our living room looks like a Christmas tree store & I informed D that if we had a bigger house, we would have more trees. He was SO delighted to hear that. Ha! I would have a "Hope" tree, A "doggy" tree & an "Auburn" tree.

Camo Undies

I didn't realize it until I was taking them out of the package to put them in the washing machine. D had to take them back to exchange them. I love, love, love the show "Say Yes to the Dress." And I got really excited that they created a spin-off series called "Big Bliss" that showcases ladies searching for plus size bridal dresses. Being a curvy girl myself, it's nice seeing other chicks my size on TV. Not everyone is a size 4 & it's time others realize this & stop being in denial. Life is not so bad in the land of curves. :)

Compost Bins

I'll be honest....I have not always been one of the most environmentally conscious people. I do recycle though & was excited when my city gave us our own recycle bins. It makes things easier when you are provided with a bin just for that reason, with instructions of what to recycle. I actually enjoy it. I am also someone who tries to take things you would normally just throw away & make it into something new. I have thought about investing in a compost bin also. I enjoy gardening & know that my yard would benefit from the fertilizer.

Party Invitations

RV Towing

Something D & I have always wanted to do is own an RV. We both love road trips & the idea of having our own rig, is exciting & the possibilities are endless. I want to travel to the 49 states & Canada. I want to see the touristy places & the back road towns. I want to even do a little "picking" in some forgotten places. If this dream is ever realized I'm sure we are going to need a number for some rv towing....Because you just never know!

Wedding Bands

I'll need to remember them when the time comes to make a purchase.

Fast forward to 18:23 & you see our friend Ben called down! Then go to 31:36 to see Ben spin the wheel & win the showcase!!!!! You will see the crazy LAMMC throughout the whole episode (in black shirts)...They are a wee bit excited. :) D & I were not allowed on stage when Ben won, because we were sitting across the aisle & D wasn't wearing his MC shirt. Oh the memories!

Medical Liability Insurance

I know several nurses & I wonder if they have each have Medical Liability Insurance. You need to protect yourself in every way possible I would imagine. Especially these days, it seems people will sue you you in a heartbeat. I can't imagine being in the position of having someone else's life in your hands. Guess that is why I was not called to be in the medical field.

Computer Lingo

I have no clue what a report engine from InetSoft is or what it would mean for someone. When I looked at the site, it was all a foreign language to me, but I am sure it is every important to someone else. Isn't it like that with different things? My Mom is all into knitting & when she talks about it, I have no idea what she is talking about. Just like when I paint, someone who is not interested in that medium doesn't know what I am talking about.

Guitar

D got a guitar a few years ago for Christmas. He had a desire to play, so we bought several books that had songs for the guitar. He learned a few cords, but that was it. It stood in the corner collecting dust for way too long & we eventually sold it. But I really wish he had learned to play. There is nothing quite as sexy as a man serenading you by the strum of the guitar.

Accountant

If I lived there I would be in search of an accountant raleigh nc. D normally does our taxes, but this year I am expecting them to be a doozy! He worked in a different state & had several different jobs. It's not going to be an easy breezy go at that paper work. I'm thinking we might need to hand it over to someone who knows their stuff, before trying to tackle it on our own.

Truckers

The idea of being a truck driver has always fascinated me for some reason. On my travels back & forth across the country, I have enjoyed stopping at those big truck stops. Then sitting back wondering about the lives of each of the drivers. Where they come from & what prompted them to decide to make truck driving their career. Truck driving is very different now though. They are gps truckers. How did people get around without gps? Oh yeah! Maps! Haha!

I have quite a few photographer friends, but they most live here in Alabama & in Florida. But if the I lived on the east coast I would have to look for a philadelphia wedding photographer. Even though I do not have a need for a wedding photographer, since I am already married. It's nice to know of a good photographer in your area, because they don't just take wedding photos.

Dead Sea Bath Salts

I was just looking at dead sea bath salts & discovered that they are proven to relieve symptoms of psoriasis & eczema. Who knew? I was diagnosed with psoriasis on my hands last year & any time I find something that helps with the symptoms, I get a bit excited. I think I may have to invest in some dead sea bath salts. I'm sure it couldn't hurt.

Pool Nets

People always think of having a fence around the pool or a cover in the winter months for safety. But I have never thought of pool safety nets, that you put over over the pool whenever it's not in use. What a great idea! Pools can be the most fun, but can also be a place of tragedy if precautions are not taken. If I owned a pool I would invest in every safety measure possible.

Carpet-less Floor

I would love to have some new quick step flooring in our house. We went for a while with just plywood. Haha! Then we added carpet, but I do miss the ease of the carpet-less floor. Maybe someday. When we thought we were moving to Memphis most of the homes we looked at didn't have carpet & I was looking forward to that.
